Terms of Service
Last updated: draft
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using National Compliance Network ("NCN", "the platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when registering. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity carried out under your account. Accounts are intended for use by UK trades, construction and compliance businesses and their nominated team members.
3. Vendor subscriptions and commission
Vendor accounts are paid subscriptions billed monthly or annually via Stripe. A free trial may be offered at sign-up. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. On expiry or cancellation the workspace enters read-only mode.
For Network jobs that result in an awarded bid, NCN may charge a commission on the transaction value. Commission rates and any applicable minimums will be disclosed in your billing settings.
4. Customer accounts
Customers may post jobs and accept bids without paying a subscription. Customers agree to act in good faith and to comply with applicable law when engaging vendors through the platform.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or to infringe third-party rights.
- Submit false verification data, fake reviews, or impersonate others.
- Circumvent the platform to avoid commission on jobs introduced via NCN.
- Attempt to access data belonging to other tenants or users.
- Scrape, automate or stress the service beyond ordinary use.
6. Content and uploads
You retain ownership of content you upload (certificates, photos, profile copy, messages). You grant NCN a non-exclusive licence to host and display that content as needed to operate the service. You are responsible for the lawfulness of what you upload.
7. Compliance disclaimer
NCN provides tools to help vendors record and manage compliance activity. Final responsibility for regulatory compliance — including the accuracy of inspections, certificates and accreditations — rests with the vendor and the relevant duty holder.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NCN's aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the platform is limited to the fees paid by you in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
9. Termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time from billing settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where reasonable.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
